I help folks who feel stuck find ease and fulfillment.
Life is feeling tough right now.
-
And it feels like you’re constantly in your head, on edge, and trapped with “what ifs”, perfectionism, or harsh self-criticism.
-
it feels impossible to change the dynamics of your interpersonal relationships.
-
Whether it’s through feeling blue or generally unfulfilled, you don’t know how to cope. It feels hopeless and as if you’ve tried healing and coping, but nothing seems to work
I’m Nira.
I believe everyone has inner resilience and therapy is a pathway to unlock it.
As much as we would like to, we cannot “get rid” of difficult emotions, thoughts and experiences. But we can learn how to adapt. We can train our mind to process information in a more useful way; we can connect deeply to ourselves to offer safety, support, and regulation during intense moments; and we can shift our focus to what’s meaningful and fulfilling, even in tough moments.
Adaptive coping mechanisms are within all of us— we have an inner resilience that can allow us to not only feel more grounded, but thrive. It takes some tools and inner work, but that’s why I’m here— to guide you every step of the way.
“ If you get the inside right, the outside will fall into place."

my specialties
My goal is for you to become your own therapist.
My therapeutic style is active, intentional, and collaborative. Going beyond traditional talk therapy, I provide clients with resources & practices to engage with outside of session, and lead mindfulness and self-compassion meditation practices in session. Personal growth should not be limited to talk therapy just once a week; I have all the tools to help you create the change you’re seeking.
-
I use CBT to help clients identify and reframe unhelpful thought patterns that fuel anxiety and stress, while utilizing ACT to teach clients how to embrace difficult emotions, clarify values, and take committed action toward a meaningful life despite challenges.
-
Through CBT and ACT, I help clients uncover and heal core wounds, learn how to self-soothe, and identify what would give their life meaning and purpose.
-
For single folks, I help them reframe their dating mindset, lift out of hopelessness, and deepen self-worth to navigate dating in a healthier way. For coupled folks, I guide better communication and conflict repair, while teaching clients to connect more deeply with one another.
-
I work closely with South Asians, BIPOC, immigrants and children of immigrants, adapting western psychotherapy frameworks to tend to the unique challenges of intersectionality.
the process
How we’ll work together
Free consultation call
During this call, we’ll discuss your concerns, what has and hasn’t worked for you so far, and the type of support you’re looking for. We’ll assess if therapy feels like a good fit on both ends. If not, I’ll direct you to directories and resources to help you connect with the best support for you.
Beginning therapy
We’ll begin our work intentionally, making therapy goals and around session 4, checking in to review your therapy plan, which is tailored to your specific needs. Therapy sessions will be a combination of insight-oriented discussions, to help you unlock a deeper understanding of yourself, as well as psychoeducation and holistic practices, to teach you how to regulate and connect with yourself and/or your partner.
Active engagement
Along the way, I will send you resources and practices that will complement our work in session and give you what you need to make the meaningful changes you’re seeking. This can include specific reflection/journaling prompts, worksheets, meditation practices, and recommendations for articles, books, and podcasts.
how to know if this is right for you
This would be perfect for you if…
You feel ready to “do the work”.
You’ve tried therapy and felt that it wasn’t enough; you weren’t given directions or tools to make change.
You are aware of your challenges and emotions, but need guidance on how to address them and regulate.
You have the desire, bandwidth and motivation to engage in self-reflection and tools.
You are excited by, or open to, holistic practices that integrate mindfulness work.
This is not right for you if…
You’re looking for traditional talk therapy that is open-ended and not centered on meaningful change or actionable progress.
You want to only dive into your past and childhood, and are not yet ready to make changes to the present.
You don’t have the time, energy, or interest in ongoing engagement outside of therapy sessions.
You only want to do therapy because you’ve heard that it’s good for you, but don’t know what you want to get out of it.
You are not interested and/or open to learn about mindfulness and how to use it.
A guiding space for you to heal, build resilience, and transform.
Finding the right therapist can be tricky so I want this part to be easy for you. Simply fill out the form and I’ll reach out to set up our free consultation call.
